new / Yuri Shibuya Whether or not we were aware of it at the time, there was something incredibly special about the NY skate scene in the 90's. It was a hurricane of raw energy and creative freedom, a gathering of a vastly varied cast of characters with a deep sense of urban family. Non native New Yorkers worked hard to earn respect and knew their place, but we all wore our acceptance with great pride.
